TÜRKÇİMENTO Attended The 5th National Highway Congress And Exhibition

TÜRKÇİMENTO, the largest Concrete Road sector stakeholder, participated in the 5th National Highway Congress and Exhibition held in Ankara on November 22nd and 23rd. The event witnessed a significant turnout at the TÜRKÇİMENTO booth, highlighting the importance of concrete road applications. 

During the congress, TÜRKÇİMENTO executives emphasized the advantages of concrete roads over other alternatives due to exceptional durability, economic feasibility, low repair-maintenance requirements, and higher resistance. 

Indicating that concrete roads are a preferred option for regions that experience heavy vehicle traffic and are predominantly used on rural roads across the globe, are still particularly prevalent among Provincial Special Administrations and Municipalities, the statement was issued stating the following: 
“As our country continues to grow and develop, the demand for sturdy and low-maintenance and repair roads that provide comfortable transportation services for our citizens is on the rise. As of October 2023, concrete roads are present in 71 provinces nationwide. Of these provinces, 30 have opted for traditional concrete roads, 55 have opted for roller-compacted concrete (RCC) roads, and 14 have chosen to have both traditional concrete and roller-compacted concrete (RCC) roads. Since the main component of concrete roads is cement, which can be produced using local and national resources, their more widespread use not only supports local and national economies but also helps to retain financial resources within the country. Moreover, concrete roads are a preferred choice for the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality when building Metrobus and district roads. In 2022, a total of 54 kilometers of concrete roads were constructed. The aim is to complete 17 kilometers of concrete roads on the European Side and 15 kilometers on the Asian side by 2024.”
